July 14, 2024 - July 18, 2024
Since 1993, this conference has focused on the cloning and characterization of a subset of the major glucose transporter isoforms. It has since evolved to embrace emergent topics in metabolic control mechanisms as they relate to chronic diseases and conditions such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. This year’s meeting will bring together biochemists, cell biologists, physiologists, pharmacologists, and clinical investigators interested in metabolic diseases. The program will cover molecular metabolism which includes cellular biology, systems physiology, structural biology, and controlled clinical trials in human patients. Molecular metabolism as a discipline has made an astonishing resurgence, fueled by new data that place altered metabolic processes at the heart of several serious health problems beyond diabetes. These include Alzheimer’s, related dementias, cancers, cardiovascular diseases, and infections. This conference will provide a rare opportunity to bring together a diverse group of investigators for a week of intense discussion and discovery.
